Infrared Thermal Inspections and Investigations

Thermography

Contrary to popular belief, thermal cameras are not X-ray machines as they do not see through solids. The power of IR cameras, can give the perception of seeing anomalies based on temperature variations related to heat and moisture in contact of the surfaces being scanned.

Anomalies can vary from overheating electrical, plumbing leaks and can be used to trace in floor heating issues. Temperature and image patterns are used to interpret the unseen and find the faults in various building systems.

The patterns and temperature spreads in which we see on a ceiling under a bathroom may be the presence of moisture that would not be visible unless there was water damage or stains. Water is the food source for that nasty mold everyone hates, so further investigation is always recommended before your renovation.

  • Electrical overheating
  • Plumbing leaks
  • Insulation gaps or voids
  • Air infiltration / drafts
  • Water leak trouble shooting
  • Heating ducts
  • Failed in-floor heating
  • Vermin or bees in walls
  • Raccoons in attics
  • Failed window seals
  • Thermal bridging
  • Mouse tunneling
  • Roof leaks

“I am extremely satisfied with the thoroughness and professionalism this  inspection service provided. The use of a drone was my first to see,  and thermal imaging set my last inspection them apart. Highly recommended!”
